Congo Expedition to the Virgin Jungle – Trekking Lake Tele is a trip to one of the most “non-tourist” countries in Africa. Congo is a country that impresses with its pristine jungle and the mighty Congo River, the second longest river in Africa. We will start the journey in the capital of congoBrazzaville, from where we will set off to the north of the country. North Congo is a little-known area of hard-to-reach swamp forest, including m.in Nouabale Ndoki National Park. The National Geograficteam, which in the mid-90s of the last century explored the areas of northern Congo, described it as the last mythical paradise – Last Eden. Not much has changed there since then.

During the Trekking Congo Expedition to the Virgin Jungle, you will explore the jungle in the company of experienced guides. In this area we will move mainly by rivers, boats made of the trunk of one tree, stopping for the night in villages and distant towns. We will see trails and places that are not on the maps, known only to local guides. The taste of real adventure will be intensified by accommodation in tents among wildlife and meetings with the indigenous inhabitants of these areas. We will host, among others, in the village of the Pygmy tribe. Congo Expedition to the Virgin Jungle Trekking to Lake Tele is a “trailblazing” event. A treat for real globetrotters, who are not afraid of difficulties and spartan conditions during expeditions and who prefer the taste of a real adventure with a good injection of adrenaline over the convenience and predictability of typical trips. Throughout the entire route, we are provided with the care of local experienced guides / translators who know the country and customs perfectly. We will go trekking in the direction of Lake Tele. It is the most isolated and mysterious lake in Africa, and perhaps all over the world. Fewer Europeans come here than climb Mont Everest – from 2 to 5 people a year.

It will be a unique expedition but also difficult, tiring and physically exhausting, almost survival. The section to go in the jungle requires very good physical condition. Congo Expedition to the Virgin Jungle is seven days with zero comfort. We will wander through swampy forests with overnight stays in tent camps in a limited space. Our goal will be Lake Tele, located in the largest swampy area of Africa. The lake was formed as a result of a meteorite impact, hence its round shape. In these swampy forests lives the largest population of gorillas on the African continent (about 100,000, discovered only in 2007), chimpanzees, buffaloes, antelopes and more than 300 species of birds. Tele Lake itself associated with myth since the eighteenth century. Several expeditions were sent to this area – legend has it that the successor of the dinosaur lives in the lake – a monster with a long neck and tail called Mokele Mbembe. We invite you on a trip Congo Expedition to the Virgin Jungle – Trekking to Lake Tele with Romaric Tour Guide
